Swim-a-Thon
Over 500 teenagers from local high schools volunteer their time and extend their helping hands and hearts throughout the year to enhance the A.N.C.H.O.R program and provide a wonderful experience for our participants. Volunteers give up a considerable part of their summer’s leisure time to work, not for financial compensation, but for the satisfaction of helping others.
During the A.N.C.H.O.R Swim-a-Thon, volunteers “Swim for Anchor” - your pledge helps raise necessary funds to maintain and further support programs, fund special activities and events, as well as the necessary supplies and equipment for individuals with disabilities participating under the Town of Hempstead’s Camp A.N.C.H.O.R Program.
